New update for the Sky News iphone app out now.

It now has the new look, and the option to watch streaming Sky News from a tab on the home page. All the election stuff is gone.

The app looks very good. I like the new design - big improvement. Also glad they kept the live streaming - I presumed they'd get rid of it once the election stuff was removed.

It's the only app which doesn't have a square icon, however. And that is slightly annoying.

Do you still have to pay for the live streaming? If so, I'm hanging onto the Election version....

It still gives you a link to the Sky Mobile TV app though, but it's a great update, it looks far better.

Sky leading with the England squad story Rolling Eyes

For goodness sake, it may be more popular with the audience but really, the situation in the Middle East is a little more important I think. This is a news channel afterall, isn't it?

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/broadcasting/news/a222822/adam-boulton-regrets-campbell-spat.html

Adam Boulton trying to justify his loss of temper, saying "Here we had an unelected person who actually didn't even have a job in the Labour team who was coming out and, before the cabinet had met, telling us what the government was going to do."

Obviously Adam Boulton would never dare do such a thing, never mind make a career out of it.

I see Sky News are still using recent news footage to promote themselves and tell everybody that every person who wants to do a live speech goes to or finds out with Sky first. Talk about cheesy!

The BBC should do one with "Sack Kay Burley watch the BBC..." "BBC News, at your fingertips!" Wink

Stephen Dixon had his iPad out on News at Ten yesterday, seems like this will be their new tablet pc. Wonder how Kay Burley will adapt to more technology.

So are Sky actually using the iPad instead of the old tablets?

Seems a bit strange, the iPad is cool but it can't run the newsroom software with access to the wires and running order.. unless there is a web interface for that?
