Lisa out and Lang staying. Shocked Shocked Shocked

I wonder might they find another role for Lisa, didn't she act as an environment reporter for a while? I think Denis Nurse worked part time anyway as she is also a lawyer.

True, although Jo Wheeler was a news presenter at one point wasn't she?

On another note, TVForum's favourite, Andrew Wilson, presenting Sunrise this morning. Shocked

And she presents one of those 'house finder' shows on BBC2.

Well Matt Smith is very robotic and very boring.

Indeed. Not very often I do this, but he is the one presenter who makes me immediately change the channel

I'm sure I remember Lisa presenting Skynews.com a few years ago too. A lot of the reports are only speculation though, so I'm quite sceptical of such a huge cut in staff across presenting, weather and reporters.

When she was 'flavour of the month' back in the early to mid nineties, she used to do lots of Sky promotions/previews on channel 998/999.

I remember back in those days The Times tipped her for great things in one their 'people to watch out for' features.

Motherhood seems to have stymied her career.

Remember folks it isn't just about names, it's also about money - hence getting rid of some of the "bigger" names who you'd assume are on higher salaries makes some financial sense. Of course these "bigger" names are not exactly on Sky's A-list - someone like Chris Roberts can kind of be compared to middle-management. He's not on the big money playing a key role, but there are people his "junior" being paid less who can step into the role in his place.

Is it me or is Isobel the only fully-qualified forecaster? That may explain why she's staying - as she is a full forecaster, with full Met Office forecaster training, not just a weather-savvy presenter?

Indeed, I doubt many people tune in to Saturday Live purely because Chris Roberts is presenting it, which you could potentially say about JT etc. It wouldn't surprise me if Jayne Secker takes over Chris' slots, she's certainly a lot better than the other "C-list" presenters (Matt Smith, Sarah Hughes etc). I assume Lorna Dunkley will return to the weekend lunchtime slot next month.

Hopefully Sky will retain at least some of their less well known senior presenters if the cuts continue, I'm not too keen on Paula Middlehurst or Gillian Joseph, but it would be a shame to see Mark Longhurst go.

I suspect Mark Longhurst's involvement in the pretty successful Sunrise format would work very much in his favour.

I don't think Mark Longhurst is in any danger. I think he was moved to Sunrise to strengthen that slot alongside Eamonn in the week.

Sunrise is the 'place to be' among people at Sky News at the moment. Also, with the decision to keep the weather girls in place during that slot, only strengthens that.

I reckon though that Sarah Jane Mee should join Mark at the weekends instead of Gillian.
