Why on the advert does it have Kay Burley introducing Jeff Randall?
It's rather questionable why they should have that in the advert when Kay doesn't normally talk to Jeff on Afternoon Live.

She is still allowed to talk to him at other times. I think they probably made contact during the Election.
The Guardian is guessing a bit on the numbers. AIUI there'll be no more than TWO weather presenters left after this. Sky is essentially closing the department.

Well as far as I know Chris hasn't been seen on air since election night. Looks more and more like he's already gone.
As far as I'm concerned this is an absolutely disgusting decision by Sky and one I cannot forgive. I'll send a strongly worded letter but I doubt it will do much good.
For me he epitomises all the things that make a truly great newscaster. Sky have very few other presenters on their books that I would hold in the same regard.

Chris Roberts was quite an amateurish presenter. Always making any errors very obvious by playing on them. Most presenters would try to move on from such a thing in a professional mannor.
I disagree in how they are using Matt Smith, even over the likes of Gillian Joseph on Sunrise this morning. He is very average and has nothing about him whatsoever, to lead such a role. At least Gillian is an experienced newsreader and does so in a profesional manner, even if a tad boring.

Sure, he made mistakes occasionally, and it was in his nature to try and laugh these off where appropriate. I don't think that is unprofessional, just makes him human and more interesting to watch. Not everybody wants robotic emotionless newsreaders that would be lost without an autocue.
I would say get used to the likes of Matt Smith presenting big slots like Sunrise. I'd imagine you'll be seeing a lot more of him now.

Well Matt Smith is very robotic and very boring.
Samantha Simmonds should have a proper slot. Although double heading needs to return, and get rid of these stupid shows like Afternoon Live and 15 mintue crap.
