Yes, I saw that at half five too - very nice advert, lots of nice detail. It seemed like it implies that the channel overloads you with detail though.
Nice, fairly long advert for Sky News HD shown just now. Hadn’t seen it before.

Haha, that's the one. No sign of Anneka Rice though.
Johnnie has already got it on his site: http://tvnewsroom.co.uk/sky-news/sky-news-hd-promo/
Is that the advert which shows a cameraman sitting in the back of the SkyCopter with a shoulder mounted camera like something from 1980s Treasure Hunt?

that's something they used to do before Sky News moved to its current studio in 2005. you'd often see presenters appear on both channels, particularly in the evening
I’m thinking it could be the case that Chris Skudder, Nick Powell and Charlie Thomas will just be doing some shifts, ostensibly on Sky Sports News, that will be broadcast on both channels.

Confirmation from a reliable poster on DS who works at Sky Sports News that the sports bulletins on Sky News will still come from the Sky News studios. OT but I am looking forward to seeing what the new Sky Sports studios are like when they launch next year, certainly is an interesting building from the outside..

I think they already have.
Do we know when the changes to the sports news will come into effect?

I believe Ed Chamberlain and Simon Thomas are presenting the SSN World Cup Reports.
Love the new HD ad, very well done.
Do we know the nature of the World Cup reports on Sky Sports News? If they use Chris Skudder for them, that could be the sort of change we should expect.

So just to clarify, because it's a bit confusing; the Sky News sports team will stay the same, and still present inside the Sky News studio alongside the main news anchors, but there will be changes to the news agenda to bring it into line with Sky Sports News, and additionally the presenters will also do shift work for Sky Sports News?
If that is the case then it won't be as bad as I thought. I thought this would mean the sports bulletins would mostly come from the Sky Sports News studio.

I have been supportive of the 'side panels' up to now, but on Sunrise they're driving me mad!! I don't mind them when they're overlaid on studio content, but when they put the weather and stuff on top of filmed and live reports it's really annoying. I keep wanting to know what's going on behind them.
Also when they cover up part of the right hand frame of a split screen, it looks naff.
