They've been doing this on Afternoon Live as well.
Bit odd since Sky Sports News and Sky News sports news are two separate entities really with two completely different teams and different news agenda.
Sportsline branded as 'Sky Sports News' including logo on the newswall.

I guess it could be because they want to be associated with Sky Sports News, which has built up quite a strong following and is a well known brand.

I noticed today that Chris Skudder, Charlie Thomas and Nick Powell were all wearing SkySportsHD lapel badges today. Nick didn't have his on During Sunrise, but it appeared later.

Just saw the Adam Boulton spat with Alastair Campbell on Have I Got News For You...
Unreal! Sky News really is a joke at the moment... Boulton should be sacked, total lack of professionalism... Get rid of him! (And Kay Burley while you're at it)
I do like Sky News but this whole election campaign has really highlighted it's flaws. IMO BBC News has had far superior coverage of the entire election.

Kay's handling of some interviews recently have left many with the feeling she's biased. Whether she is or isn't - it is a failure on her part that she leaves people with that feeling as a result of her "style".
I assume on the occasion in question, she knew she was interviewing a 'professional' activist who should expect a hard time.
Why should an interviewee 'expect a hard time'? If they don't answer questions then they can expect to be challenged to actually answer the question posed, but Kay's confrontational approach doesn't work when she's not bright enough to actually think of challenging questions. She seems to interrupt constantly when an interviewee doesn't give her a soundbite that she wants... She doesn't seem to realise that interviewing is a two-way process - and if her question doesn't get a decent answer maybe rephrasing it rather than hectoring might be a bit more productive. All she does is interrupt when she thinks it will be to her benefit, and make blanket assertions that she expects an interviewee to react to. That can be a very good technique when exploited sensibly and at the right time - but she doesn't appear to have the skills to do this... She just seems to lack any form of editorial judgement in these situations, and it just makes her look inadequate and a bit ridiculous. And increasingly so - she's becoming a caricature of herself.
The same day she interviewed a couple of teenage girls who were totally clueless as to why they were demonstrating. Kay was as good as gold with them.
No surprise there then... They were hardly a challenging interview were they?

Lots in the papers about the Boulton/Campbell row, the Daily Mail quotes a 'Sky source'
And I must say I agree completely with the Observer article
http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2010/may/16/preston-boulton-campbell
Also in a separate article a suggestion Boulton was not a fan of some of Jeff Randall's antics

Adam accepts he went over the top [but] does not go back on anything he has said.
And I must say I agree completely with the Observer article
Quote:
Alastair Campbell is a talented, abrasive fellow, who loses his temper and makes those around him lose theirs. Did he say anything particularly outrageous in that notorious Sky News confrontation with Adam Boulton? Nothing much on the Richter or rictus grin scale. Should Boulton have kept his cool? That would probably have been a good idea. But does he deserve a Full Monty Ofcom inquiry as hundreds of complaints flood in?
Absolutely not. Sky (despite the facile linkage) isn't Fox News. It's the doggedly professional outfit that helped bring us those debates; and Boulton embodies that, too. Anyone can get dog tired and tetchy after an exhausting election. Anyone – interrupting, arguing, reacting – can take a bit of a rhetorical pop at Campbell. Manifestly, he enjoys it. Why try to shut a good show down?

Also in a separate article a suggestion Boulton was not a fan of some of Jeff Randall's antics
Quote:
Some believe new shows, including Randall and Boulton Unleashed, anchored by the channel's political editor and its rumbustious, Brown-baiting business editor Jeff Randall, signal that Sky is already taking a tentative step in that direction. Broadcasting sources claim Boulton might not be comfortable with that, and it is an open secret at Sky that he found Randall's constant references to Brown's "tax and spend" instincts slightly jarring.
Sky News is probably too established now to be subjected to an editorial overhaul inspired by Fox News; the risk of reputational damage would be too great and Boulton's own high standing may even mitigate against such a radical change of direction. And Boulton himself said earlier this year that "opinionated news", as he styled it, tends not to take root in British broadcasting.
Boulton takes his own commitment to journalistic impartiality so seriously, he supposedly refuses to vote. He would not be slow to make his feelings known if his bosses decided to editorialise on air – not least because it would suggest his old adversary Alastair Campbell might have been right all along.

I don't give a sh*t whether or not he was biased.
The fact is, he lost his cool. You can blame it on whatever you like, but whatever business you work in, you don't bring your own crap into the office. Whether this means you've been up for 36 hours or not. You just don't. Boulton lost his cool with a pro spin doctor. He continued an argument over a fellow journalist's link. That is unacceptable, unprofessional and he should have apologised within at least a few hours. He supposedly has a blog and a brain, surely this synergy could have produced some sort of belated sorrow?
I don't want to hear this rubbish about, oooh well let's cut him some slack because he's worked hard.
If you work every hour God sends in a call centre, and you lose your cool with a customer, that call is recorded and you get the sack. So why are people so quick to defend this bloated arrogant toad?
Speaking of arrogance, Kay Burley is indefensible following her Ipswich interview. Those who called Kaplinsky simpering clearly used Burely as a yardstick. How she's still doing pro journalism I'll never figure out.

I noticed it appearing on Sky1 during Lost on Friday night. They were advertising NaT next on SN - surprisingly old logo and no mention of HD.
The old Sky News logo makes a sneaky appearance...
