I do like Peter Spencer, although he just seems to be on weekend duty, unless he does weekdays and I somehow miss him.

IMHO the problem with Boulton was not his - it was Sky not having a large enough and credible enough political team that he had to personally carry their entire elections coverage. For 2015, they need to have someone who can equal Boulton, so they can share the 20 hour days between them.

Neither of them have done anything sackable in this case, but if Sky want a credible news operation, their senior political editor can not just explode as a result of some prodding by a notorious spin doctor, who's job was to take the publics eyes away from things the government didn't want analysed, and give them something else to concentrate on instead. In this case, Cambell did excellently. Nobody remembers him trying to deny Labour had lost, just that Boulton had exploded with rage.

Skys political team is the best imo. Jon Craig is chief political correspondent and along with Joey Jones they deserve more airtime. I think it's the fact that Adam wants to work 16 hour days.

During the election, I believe he was doing quite a bit of radio coverage.

I think the Sky News political team has some very strong assets. Irrespective of what has transpired in the past week, Adam Boulton and Jon Craig are both very well-respected and well-connected and extremely valuable. Glen Oglaza and Peter Spencer are both well-established by now and have a very good manner of explaining themselves in a clear, succint yet individual manner. As for Niall Paterson and Joey Jones, both are amongst the best up and coming TV political journalists around from what I've seen. NP's tweets from the campaign and beyond have been enjoyable and insightful.

The new business graphics look really good and so much better presented on the actual newswall!

The decision to make Adam front all of the Sky election coverage will not have been made by Adam on his own. The powers that be at Sky decided in conjuction with Adam that he was to do that, and that was the wrong decision.

Skys political team is the best imo.

When the prime ministerial debates were being discussed, specifically who was going to chair the debates for each broadcaster, only one name came up for Sky - Adam Boulton. For the BBC, four names were suggested (Dimbleby, Paxo, Huw Edwards and Andrew Marr), all being big names, with a history of being able to carry out that role. Sky's politial team would improve greatly if they could poach just one of those names to support Adam (not replace him).

Jon Craig is chief political correspondent and along with Joey Jones they deserve more airtime.

They may have a good team underneath Boulton, but none of them are able to shine while he is presenting every possible second of the coverage - Boulton was the face of the Sky News elections coverage. I couldn't name a sole face of the elections coverage on BBC / ITV / C4. With the BBC, Dimbleby was the face of the election results, and the debate, but apart from that he has been in the background, with others taking the lead and making significant contributions to the BBC's overall coverage.

With the election coverage now winding down looks like more of a HD push is beginning, brief ad just now along with JT mentioning that viewers were watching 'Sky News HD', first time someone other than Kay has done so I think.

On another note is the website going to adapt a bit more to the news look, such as using the new blue and red colours? The only change thus far is the logo in the top left but on some pages (eg. the blogs) the old logo remains top left.

The nothing to do with Sky bit could refer to the fact that Sky have nothing to do with the picture quality coming from Downing Street, other than a request for it to be in HD. It will be Visions staff / freelancers working for Visions who are responsible for the quality of the pictures.

Yes, that was exactly the point I was making

I missed majority of it - but the last 5mins or so did look good as always, not sure whether new music was introduced for the show or whether they continued with the music since Friday.

Jeff Randall Live used the same titles and same music before the channel's refresh

The only issue I had was that all the graphics were on the Newswall, way behind Martin sitting at the desk, which made them impossible to read on SD, and you couldn't really see the videos right in the far-right of the Wall.

Yeah I must say I thought it was all a bit messy even on the HD channel. Still only first show back, I am sure they will make adjustments.

I assume the island hadn't returned then
