Well BBC News is really outshining Sky News on their first day.

Sky News now lagging behind in presentation terms - I never thought I'd see the day.

Well, obviously Sky LIKES to lag behind, they could simply do so much more with the studio they have. But they axed everything. Or are they just to lazy?

HEAR, HEAR couldn't agree more. Sky News is a shadow of its former self, BBC News revamp aside it has felt dated and stale in presentation for some time now I'm afraid - very sad.

Maybe the rotator on the desk has broken?

I have the same thought. Either the desk can't rotate anymore, or they prepare a new newsroom backdrop. Hopefully the last one.

I am a great fan of Sky News but am really struggling to find anything good to say about the channel in its current form. They used to innovate in presentation style, have great energy and lead where others would follow. Not anymore Im afraid. They need to quickly reinvent themselves or continue down a path to being a channel that is too costly to run and ultimately be closed. Note to J Ryley...Please take on board what we say as we are viewers you need to retain and attract more of.

I am really wondering at the trend reversal on this thread now. Half a year ago I was attacked because I was saying I am disappointed by the latest presentation style of the channel.

And I was told that the viewing figures have increased since they axed all programs.

Wouldn't expect anything else from forumers than bashing Sky News on the day the BBC relaunch. I am amused by the criticism.

Has anyone mentioned that one of the first things the BBC news channel did since its relaunch was have a promo for its new 10:30 and 11:30 paper preview. Where have we seen a 10:30 & 11:30 paper preview before?

Seeing bits of the BBC relaunch it is very clear that Sky News graphics and lower thirds are far superior to those launched today by the BBC NC.

Today for coverage on Hacking I found myself turning off the flustered Norman Smith who was waving his hands all over the place and chose Joey Jones the ever assured analyser of what was going on informing the audience of the Breaking News.

And yet Sky News gets its usual bashing on here...some perspective please.

Setting aside presentation, Sky News is clearly the worst TV news in the country.

There you go, some perspective.

Please do elaborate because content wise I think Sky actually competes very well with BBC and ITV. I believe their foreign correspondents are outstanding and their coverage of the financial crisis has been excellent and suprerior to Peston and his BBC cohorts.
