Well since yesterday only the gallery is used again for the main desk presentation. Wonder what is going on. Hopefully you are right!
I wonder if we will be getting a new backdrop for the newsroom presentation soon? I notice that all day yesterday the gallery was used and this morning Hannah Talett is using the gallery backdrop for the headlines during murnaghan.

Since the BBC News Channel is relaunching from a new studio on Monday - with new presentation also, I think Sky maybe 'making some tweaks'. They did a similar thing just before BBC News rebranded in 2008.

Hopefully using the Newswall once again would be a good start. That massive studio and presenters stuck at the desk... sounds like the (current) BBC News channel.

Exactly, right point!

I ( used to) watch sky news all the time , because I thought it looked more fresh than BBC news. I liked the use of the news wall in afternoon live and I liked the podium desk there too , I also liked how the programs had different names , THEY HAVE A HUGE STUDIO , THEY SHOULD USE IT TOO FULL POTENTIAL! ( very stale now imo)

Agreed. That's probably the one thing that everyone has in the top of their list to change at Sky. I think they're trying to make themselves the serious, hard-lined news channel of the UK but it's not working. They're not differentiating themselves from BBC News like they used to. They need to understand that using the news wall and walking around (Boulton & Co is a perfect example) still means you can deliver a serious news programme that is more inviting to viewers. Right now it's just stale with someone behind a background with a news wall presentation every month when something with the economy happens.

Well let's hope that the BBC News Channel's rebrand, will 'put rocket up Sky News' bum'!
As I said, when BBC News rebranded in 2008, Sky News refreshed their graphics and presentation on the week leading up. Let's hope that the same thing is happening again - but it's all hush-hush.
