I hope someone recorded the moment the graphic showed that Obama has won, because the extenden sequence of the election music was played.

SD and HD back to normal graphics, side panels still show on SD but are located in the area which will only show on widescreen - Should have done that all along IMHO,

As someone who doesn't have the benefit of HD TV, it's come as a bit of a treat to see the graphics panel on the SD format. They're using these graphics now for other stories apart from the election. For all their flaws, I quite like them.

How long are they planning to let the side panels on the SD feed?

Coverage of the election (from the U.S.) ends at midnight tonight, so I suppose then?

Yes you are right, but they were so close...and now they vanished . Such a sad loss to me as an SD-Viewer.

Not only have they still not moved the side panels back to their proper position, they are being rendered and displayed in a much lower quality than the native HD ones were previously.

It seems that instead of HD getting optimized side panels as before, the side panels are now designed for SD and being used on HD as well.
