Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting.

As someone's just posted on Twitter, despite Kay being an excellent on location reporter, she just doesn't know where and when to draw the line.

Powerful reaction from them and, I have to say, despite what we all think of Kay Burley, she handled the situation very well.

ARE YOU ACTUALLY SERIOUS? Rolling Eyes

I can't wait for the OFCOM ruling into her actions this morning. Does the woman have any shame?

I'm being totally serious. The clips in circulation don't provide full context to the situation. What actually happened was that the relatives approached Kay and asked her "What's happening? Or what are the developments"? It was an extremely awkward moment and a difficult one. Considering she was LIVE, she used her judgement and told them, quite sensitively in my opinion, that it had become a murder enquiry.

As I noted in my previous post, it was very painful to watch. However, she used the right tone and conveyed it in as gentle a manner as possible.

What would you have done in exactly the same circumstances??

So, yes, I believe she did handle it well, WHEN YOU APPRECIATE THE WHOLE SCENARIO IN PROPER CONTEXT.

BBC WORLD , thank you for bringing in the full and real context of the whole thing.

Of course, the video in circulation does not contain that part so Kay is once again the most hated woman in Britain. Rolling Eyes

It's always easy to shift the blame on Kay because of the controversial things she did in the past. Not good IMO.

What context doesn't excuse is her attempts to turn it into an interview, and why no-one forced her to throw to someone else (presumably they have someone sitting in a studio in case the live poops).

I agree that she handled it well given the circumstances. She was obviously under the impression that they already knew the updated news, so she couldn't exactly not tell them. It was awkward, but it wasn't her fault.

She's been at her worst all week. I know news readers/reporters relish big dramatic stories but on day one she could barely contain her excitement. It was like watching 'Onion News Network' - "It's definitely been the most EXCITING school shooting in years!". Completely tactless. Rolling Eyes

The bandwagon begins in earnest...

Seems to be another bad milestone in her controversial career.

The full video. Really don't know what was she supposed to tell her? Plus the other woman already knew and was there ready to talk, it's not like Kay dragged them.
