Anyone also noticed that the right part of the desk is not glowing anymore? You can see the difference in those videos.

The normal camera move for a TOTH (when the V/O kicks in) is usually just a pedastel coming down to its position and fading to the anchor camers. These 'remote' TOTHs use the jib and looks nicer IMO.

Anna Jones at Wapping was just like any other story, except they sent an anchor rather than a reporter to cover it.

I think that's because of the time- Usually the standard pedastel move is during the afternoon/late evening and night. Whilst the mornings and 5pm/6pm usually have the jib.

The 10pm, 11pm, press preview and the midnight all use the jib as well.

At 11 am with Dermot it is mostly the TOTH where the jib is moving the most from a studio point to the desk. Then you can see most of the studio.

Why would they get a jib operator in just to do the press preview? Watch tonight at 10 and 11 and you'll see that the TOTH is done using the jib.

Why would they need to get an operator in? Can't the presenters just control it from their iPads?

And turn on the lights on the desk as well?

It may, but sometimes it isn't. Why? If they already have the operator...

After having a look at the second link and the stats for the viewers. It seems the 19:00-00:00 period is by far the most watched. So why do Sky habe the 19:00-21:00 period on a 15 minute loop, why don't they switch the 17:00-19:00 type schedule, with interviews and more news with the 19:00-21:00?

Perhaps that is why it's popular. Digestible news in a short space of time.
