Why can't Sky News just use some video from the BBC? Rather than continuously using silly outside shots of the fireworks and still images of the inside.

Because Sky News don't hold the picture rights, whereas the BBC and the BBC News Channel do and can. Sky News and BBC World News are both in the same boat of broadcasting Worldwide and not having the rights to show video from the events, so can only show 4 minute highlights and stills. Sky News and BBC WN were able to show the David Beckham boat and fireworks as they could be seen from their Olympic studios and O/B points both respectively outside the Park on Lund Point (BBC NC/Nationals/WN) and Westfield Shopping Centre (Sky News/SSN) and the sides of the Thames near Tower Bridge.

Why don't they show 4 minute highlights?

There are limitations to how many times they can be shown per 24 hours.

I'm pretty sure they haven't showed them once.

I thought they also had to wait until 12 or 24 hours after the initial broadcast?

In all the time I've watched, they haven't showed a single clip.

I've seen them run quite a bit of action in Sunrise each morning.

Any other regular Sunrise viewers find themselves watching BBC Olympic Breakfast instead?

I think it's a bit of a miss by SkyNews not having a studio presence near/overlooking the Park.

Loved the end of the Press Preview last night at 23:30 with Pierce and Maguire! I think you know where I'm going with this if I just mention the topic: Pussy Riot

Sky News International is broadcasting now special International reports with new correspondants and new graphics during the breaks. Also new promos of sky news are shown. At the end of each hour a world weather forecast is shown. But sadly the old good breakfiller has gone now.

Could you show us anything? Descriptions are wonderful but most of us don't get Sky News Intl and can't see what you're seeing.

There is a load of background noise on Sky News at the moment. It sounds like someone speaking Japanese, maybe.

(Sorry for the bad quality, there is no livestream of the feed, so I had to take photos) :

There are also three new Promos of Skynews which carry the title: Wherever the story takes us..
There are also new correspondants for example Hind Hassan or Katie Spencer, who are doing international reports. Often interviews which where showed earlier on skynews are replayed during the breaks.

When I have Sky News on I have to constantly turn the volume up and down - this music drives me mad hearing it for 3 or 4 mins 4 times an hour!
