The bell looked decidedly wobbly when he picked it up, I'm sure someone loosened the shaft deliberately so that would happen. Wink

Question is would Jeremy Hunt of issued first aid if the lady was injured, he asked if she was OK but didn't seem to care about her response!

Kay working the crowds again, when she approached a chap and said 'You're live on Sky News' - the chap said 'You're Kay Burley!!!!! aren't you!' - it made her day that someone recognised her!

Some may criticise Kay, me included but when it comes to O/B's for big event she works the crowds and anchors the coverage well. Serious news isn't really her thing I think sometimes.

Still a shame that Jeremy Thompson isn't out working the crowds, I remember when he was the roving anchor reporter for the Golden Jubilee on the Mall... He was also superb!

EDIT: A woman just did a rude hand gesture to the left side of the camera just now - 14:23. You'd only see it in 16:9 but it looked like she was 'entertaining herself!!! Anyone vid it?

Apparantly the wayward Hunt bell hit the producer sister of CNN's Christiane Amanpour. Ensuring maximum publicity stateside.

Ian Woods managed to do a live using 3G on the Jubilee line between Canning Town and Stratford, bar the picture breaking up as it pulled into Stratford station, the picture quality was excellent.

Also noticed that weather presenters are being used during the day again.

Anyone notice one of the guests at 22:03 on Skynews. He was appearing with Alistair Bruce and made some very inappropriate gestures.

Why can't Sky News just use some video from the BBC? Rather than continuously using silly outside shots of the fireworks and still images of the inside.

Because Sky News don't hold the picture rights, whereas the BBC and the BBC News Channel do and can. Sky News and BBC World News are both in the same boat of broadcasting Worldwide and not having the rights to show video from the events, so can only show 4 minute highlights and stills. Sky News and BBC WN were able to show the David Beckham boat and fireworks as they could be seen from their Olympic studios and O/B points both respectively outside the Park on Lund Point (BBC NC/Nationals/WN) and Westfield Shopping Centre (Sky News/SSN) and the sides of the Thames near Tower Bridge.

There are limitations to how many times they can be shown per 24 hours.

I'm pretty sure they haven't showed them once.

I thought they also had to wait until 12 or 24 hours after the initial broadcast?
