Will there be a chance to unify graphics and music themes of Sky News UK, AU/NZ

News Corp's shares in Foxtel, which in turn owns part of Sky News Australia, will form part of the publishing business when News Corp splits in two.

So with the BSkyB stake held in the TV/Film business there will be no 'parent company' links between Sky News UK and Sky News Australia any more. Whether that impacts on co-operation between the two Sky News's remains to be seen

Is there that much cooperation between the two channels anyway? They've both taken very different routes with the graphics, Sky News Australia is much more sensationalised than the UK version and I haven't seen an Australia correspondent on the UK channel in a long time - they used to have business interviews in the Live Desk hour with Sky News Australia.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this, but hopefully this will be of interest to those who read this thread. I've been clearing out my capture card recordings and I came across a 25 minute long clip of the run up and the start of Sky's 2010 election coverage.

The clip shows the last time that the previous graphics package was used as well as an abrupt cut to the ad break, as well as 20 or so minutes more of the start of Sky's coverage, including another break. Hopefully someone will enjoy it! Razz The clip is as-broadcast meaning advert breaks are included, but you're free to skip them obviously.

On World News and World News and Business Report, special stings and music for sports papers and world weather just now. Are these used during the day? Also, they can play the TOTH as 'Sky News' amd as 'Sky News HD' but the circling logo gets played out at half past as 'Sky News' which then flashes to the studio and the V/O is drowned out by the music.

They've been used since World News was introduced in 2005.

Was near the Olympic Park today. Not 100% certain, but judging by some of the signage at ground level, I think this might be the Sky News and Sky Sports News studio on top of Westfield:

Thanks for sharing. Been looking for this on and off for ages.
Nice use of studio. Horrible graphics.

There's a good news for those who have been searching for the Sky News HD font!

Fontsmith, the foundry that created the fonts for Sky News (Sky News Regular and Sky News Bold) have made available to purchase a font called FS Truman which has nearly the same letter design and has 3 weights + italic versions whereas the original Sky news had only 2 weights and no italic version.
So now fans of Sky News and TV Mock designers can use a really close font to the genuine Sky News font (if they're not stopped by the price because it's kind of expensive...)

(P.S.: I'm not advertising it's just to answer to the several requests about the Sky News font)

The TOTH sequence at 10 o' clock took 1 minute and 40 seconds.
