Does the presenter choose what side of the desk Very Happy to sit at? Also does it still rotate?

Now it's time for the rest of the graphics to get revamped because they don't fit to the TOTH anymore.

They fit in with the overall design for the OSG? The previous TOTH tied in overall nicely enough, and the new one ties in nicely too. The main graphics aren't even seen in the TOTH, so saying they don't tie in is, IMO, a bizarre comment.

The current graphics are fine, anyway, and do not need to be updated everytime something changes.

I think I have expressed myself wrongly, because I mean the backgrounds behind the split screen or the logo before the weather. They have a rather bright and light blue appearance and the TOTH is darker and features a strong blue, but anyway everything is fine.

Hmm, well I agree with you there, at least. I was going to ask whether they'd change the loop on the screen used during Sunrise, because that's no longer the style.

Judging by the press preview tonight, the answer would be no to a change in the loop design. However, it may be different in the morning

No change for Sunrise, Unfortunately..

Yes it does rotate between newsroom and gallery backdrop.

Whats wrong with the sound on the 21:00 TOTH? It seems there's 2 music pieces with a slight delay on the second.

I have to say, the current TOTH (and the previous) are, in my opinion, the poorest in Sky News history.
The music is too brash, too repetitive - It doesn't stand out.

In fact, looking at some of the older clips on TV-Ark, the whole look of Sky News feels really tired.

The old studio was much better...

They seem quite lazy now, Sunrise feels cramped, 'Boulton and Co' seems to come from a corridor.

They could make so much more of their space, as they did when they moved studio..

Getting very bored of Sky News at the moment.

I agree, the current headlines music is very poor, too slow, repetitive, not as dramatic and good as previous one. Would be better if they just left it.

I think the studio from your second clip was quite good, lots of moving about allowed experimental pres positions. So many areas have been eliminated from the 'revamp', the stairs, both of the podiums, various positions at the curved desk, the desk backing onto the video wall and the screen beside the desk.

And they removed the nice globe , which had been used for World News.

I noticed that too and the same thing happened at 10pm, Seemed ok at 11pm but just before the swoosh into the studio the music stopped for a few seconds before continuing again

I miss the sound effects from the last TOTH such as the duh duh when the top story showed and the noise when it used to fly down to the website preview, The transition into the top story looks better than just a box filling the screen though I never really liked that

The final fly down to the logo seems to take too long

I think programme names and the full jib and V/O should come back, such as 'Live from the Sky News Centre, this is..Sky News Sunrise..with Eamonn Holmes,..and, ..Charlotte Hawkins' Then for the weather, 'Sky News Weather..with.. Isobel Lang'

Taking the Sky News DOG off of the CBS News would be a good idea too Wink

And another problem is they use the same music everytime. Three years ago they had different music beds for TOTH , Top Stories and Coming Up.

The same problem at 00.00.
