The live feed idea reflects that Sky News is constantly updating, instant, live and breaking stories, so re-inforces the brand. You may not be able to read it all - you're not meant to ... after all the headlines are in a matter of seconds! You can see the odd bit of detail and the images give you an idea of the hours agenda. Stop moaning and grow up, it's all in the detail!
I agree, the TOTH sequence isnt going to be any longer, and I havent watched it in a while but I think its similar to skysports referring to platforms not content anymore. And someone would complain if it was fake news, so for the extra effort of having a live feed is great.

I think I have expressed myself wrongly, because I mean the backgrounds behind the split screen or the logo before the weather. They have a rather bright and light blue appearance and the TOTH is darker and features a strong blue, but anyway everything is fine.
