Will JRL get a toth update?
WA

If it was dummy info - it would date quickly and may need to be changed as news moves on and progresses. The live feed idea reflects that Sky News is constantly updating, instant, live and breaking stories, so re-inforces the brand. You may not be able to read it all - you're not meant to ... after all the headlines are in a matter of seconds! You can see the odd bit of detail and the images give you an idea of the hours agenda. Stop moaning and grow up, it's all in the detail!

I agree, the TOTH sequence isnt going to be any longer, and I havent watched it in a while but I think its similar to skysports referring to platforms not content anymore. And someone would complain if it was fake news, so for the extra effort of having a live feed is great.

Will JRL get a toth update?

Why should it? The JRL TOTH has nothing to do with the usual TOTH and secondly it features the latest business graphics.

Actually watching it on HD instead of SD, the website headline seems much clearer and easier to quickly read whilst it flashes up. Comparing the two, the HD version seems slicker than the standard TOTH.

Now it's time for the rest of the graphics to get revamped because they don't fit to the TOTH anymore.

They fit in with the overall design for the OSG? The previous TOTH tied in overall nicely enough, and the new one ties in nicely too. The main graphics aren't even seen in the TOTH, so saying they don't tie in is, IMO, a bizarre comment.

The current graphics are fine, anyway, and do not need to be updated everytime something changes.

I think I have expressed myself wrongly, because I mean the backgrounds behind the split screen or the logo before the weather. They have a rather bright and light blue appearance and the TOTH is darker and features a strong blue, but anyway everything is fine.

Hmm, well I agree with you there, at least. I was going to ask whether they'd change the loop on the screen used during Sunrise, because that's no longer the style.

Judging by the press preview tonight, the answer would be no to a change in the loop design. However, it may be different in the morning

Indeed, the press preview is darker than the sunrise one.

Between 12:00am - sunrise ... Why does the first headline strap on the TOTH not have the proper transition rather than the fade?
I know it's not super important, but why can't they just do it like all other hours?

The background for the newspapers/split screens etc all follow the old lighter blue design.
I hope they'll be updated soon! Sky News was doing very well with a consistent brand, lets hope this doesn't ruin it.
