I assume they will keep the ticker bar at the top of the site, I find that quite good, when it appears on my ipad. Also what about the live stream and top story clip?
EDIT: Yes I have the ipad app, but do not frequently use it as it cuts out music playing and cannot switch to another app quickly

Why? Do you think that would be the best use of Sky's resources to drive commercial revenues or is it to keep phil94 entertained during the hours Paula Middlehurst isn't on air?
Web design currently seems to move lot faster than styles of broadcast presentation and it's something that should be on the top of the lists of all broadcasters as it's the fastest growing way of driving viewers (probably). If they want to keep up with both their broadcast rivals and their online only competition like MSN, the online presence is probably the most important thing to innovate.
They should rather focus on what they are showing on TV. It would maybe better to revamp the onscreen graphics than the website.

Looks much better than the current site. I wonder where the adverts will fit in though?
I don't understand what's wrong with the on-screen graphics at the moment. People seem to jump at every opportunity they get if there's a suggestion of change, when I actually think the current ones do the job perfectly well. Why do people want the graphics to change?

I do like the current on-screen graphics at the moment and I think that they will/could last another year or so yet. The only tweaks that I'd like to be made are the use of the Sky font on the channel and for the logo to fit in with the majority of the broadcasters channels with the transparent 'Sky' and 'HD'..

This change to their website comes on the back of a) a similar change of the BBC (News) website in recent months, and b) a large survey of Sky.com visitors. Looks like they're taking into account the suggestions of regular readers. Whether this leads to a change in the TV graphics is another matter.
