By the end of the next few days I'll be sick to death of it.
It's the Sky News theme, so why should they use anything else? It's only like the BBC using the main news theme for all the French Election coverage or the same sting every half hour?!
Ah, now you see you've made the (reasonable enough) assumption that regular participants of this thread watch Sky News on an "average" basis, ie for around 15-60 minutes to hear the latest stories.
As opposed to every second of every minute of every hour of every day of every week of every month of every year.
In short, I didn't used to like fresh tears in my green tea but it's something you grow accustomed to when opening this thread. Becuase it's either that or taking a very large brick to your head.
Kay Burley seems to be getting lambasted on Twitter (also trending for all the wrong reasons). This woman does herself no favours it seems!
She sets new standards for awfulness - she probably relishes in getting all the attention she does, and currently is. Can't bear her behind the desk, never mind doing something as big as the Diamond Jubilee.
Not just the weather, Eamonn Holmes is really dampening the spirit with quite a lugubrous and skeptical look at today, which is not his job and not good to watch. I know far too many of us can get easily overexcited about this, but wishing pneumonia on people going out to view the pageant is a bit too far!
Sky News is just failing to capture the energy - it's just too legarthic and the presenting so far is leaving a lot to be desired. They lack the authority and finesse of the BBC so far, the latter is really excelling itself with the national look of the event today, showing it's not just London.
This is a bad moment waiting to happen - Kay Burley and Boris Johnson.
I think their commentator Alistair Bruce is doing Sky justice in covering the Pageant. I've been flicking between Sky and the BBC for most of the afternoon, and I think it's been pretty close to call so far. I think the BBC graphics previewing the Pageant route have been impressive, but Sky's camera angles are also really good. It might be worth Sky removing the ticker for the duration of the flotilla parade, especially as it's listed on the EPG as a special one-off feature programme.
