On CBS News, why is the Sky News Logo not the same size as usual? Rather the old graphics size logo.
Maybe it's burnt onto the video.
It isn't burnt onto the video as they sometimes forget to fade it up during the CBS period. It seems to be the same kit that is used when the main graphics fail, so maybe they have simply forgot to amend the size?

I doubt they've forgotten.
Whats your answer then? Believe it or not Sky News focus more on the news than how many pixels difference their logo is from one graphics generator to the next.

Is it just me who thinks that Sky News would look a lot better if they had an effect similar to this?
Possibly at a different angle, but split screening looks a bit amateur and dated to me.
I get a sense that the Sky News of the early 2000s will haunt the channel for years to come yet. Yep, I know this is a pres forum etc etc, but a news channel isn't about flashy camera angles, whizzy graphics, whooshes, jibs, walking around etc.
I don't get how a split screen is "out dated" all of a sudden. I know; how about Sky install a second TV in your room and they do it like that instead? Whilst they're at it, they'll build a newswall behind you too so you can have flashing breaking news graphics in 360 degrees.
Anyway, I don't *think* that's an effect. It's actually part of the set. The only effect there is that they've blacked out the areas either side where the cameras are.
That screen is part of the set, off to the right side of the set from that angle. You sometimes see it on wide shots facing towards the presenters. The effect is a split screen, combining two different high camera feeds to achieve the effect, with some additional masking to make it look good.

I couldn't disagree more. To me, Sky has completely lost it's way from a presentation point of view. They used to keep us on our toes here on TVF with regular refreshes and all the latest innovations.
The 2005 relaunch was just jaw-dropping to me, and when it was replaced with the awful ticking clock and the current website advert TOTHs I stopped watching.
In fact, how come it's been so long since they've revamped the TOTH. How long have we had the current one?
