I am surprised that someone has mentioned that. One week ago skynews today was presented with the gallery backdrop and noone cared about the issue.
Sky News at 5 has the soft afternoon background rather than the gallery. Probably a technical issue.

Have you thought about creating a blog? Tentitive suggestion for a title of "Phil's Sky News Nitpicking".
The reason that nobody seemed to care about it is because a) it's not that unusual b) it doesn't affect the programme at all and c) it's really not that interesting.
If the gallery background was in use and a swarm of wasps appeared resulting in mass panic, screaming and running from the entire gallery staff, then I'm sure it would have been mentioned.
And as for you... how on earth did you jump to the assumption that it was a "technical issue". It could have been anything (although, the number of things which could be classed as a "technical issue" in a studio probably covers about everything). Maybe the gallery staff have had said wasp incursion, and they're trying to keep it out of shot (that's not a technical issue!).

This seems to be a really bad joke, doesn't it?

As of May 2012, Jeff Randall Live will cease broadcasting as ratings are low, Sky sources also added that the programme was boring and adds no gain to the Sky News Scheduels anymore. Jeff Randall commented that "I thought i had a good thing going my contract with Sky was to last until the summer, this will of course end with immediate effect as i feel their comments were unjust and totaly un-toward the real issue here".

How many times, children? Always take what Wikipedia says with a pinch of salt. The fact that there are spelling issues, and how, I think, JRL always rates quite well make this seem false. On top of that, no citations, so no source.
Please tell me you haven't added it in yourself... The user who made the edits talk page shows a bad track record...

I really couldn't agree more, the entire production was a shambles. Awful from start to finish, floor managers in shot, camera ops in shot, Anna pulling faces at the soundie when her T/B cable came out. Sky are much better than this.
That entire debate was really rather embarrassing. Anna was utterly sh!t at chairing the debate - allowing not only the candidates to keep talking over each other, but allowing some of the public to talk over the candidates' responses, and allowing both public and candidates to launch into long rambling rants, rather than either asking actual questions or answering them appropriately.
And looking at the production design, if it wasn't for the branded lecterns, I'd have assumed that I was watching a parent-teacher conference rather than a high-minded political debate. Compare this with Question Time, for example - which manages to produce a professional-looking production in any space that it has to work with, along with commanding adjudication that maintains order throughout.
Sky can do much, much better than this shambles (see: Adam Boulton, general election debate), and I'm really disappointed that they didn't do better. It was a very lively debate, but too often it descended into disorder, and the slapdash production, and frequent cuts between cameras, were just the cherry on the turd.

are you a slow reader?
no.
What is the point of showing the emails of those in the Leveson Enquiry if one cannot read them. They are scrolling really fast on the screen, so In not sure why there has been continuous showing of them for the last 20 - 30 minutes.
