Can't the presenter just do the markets rather than having the 'financial report' after the break...?

I think its just a way for Sky to get sponsorship money.

I don't think there was sponsorship before. Just the Sky News logo.

HD is not being kind to the Sunrise desk. Noticed its getting a bit tatty, especially at the bottom where someone has applied some gaffa tape!

I mentioned this on January 12th. Still not sorted.

It may be a bit trivial, but I wonder if they're planning to repair the silver desk where it's attached to the Sunrise/Paper review desk?

For the last few weeks you can see (in HD at least) it's been temporarily repaired with silver duct tape. Looks a bit messy.

Just saw a tweet about the new look newswheel. I'm not near a tv right now, so was wondering if it was any different?

Since Monday, the 8pm hour has been two full half-hour bulletins of news, Instead of the "wheel" format.

A good decision, makes the schedule pretty much identical across all hours. Another wrong of years gone by being put right by the management.

Be happy about it! It's 20 seconds of nice music and graphics!

the same management who implemented it in the first place

also makes it pointless bringing in a separate newsreader for that one hour. I can see the 9pm presenter taking it over before long

A fair point but it's a good development nonetheless.

I always thought that bringing a newsreader in for that 8pm hour, even more so now That the 10pm presenter now does the 9pm! Personally, I would either;
Keep Jeremy (the 5pm-7pm presenter) on to present it or
Move Jeff Randall Live to 8pm and create a 3 hour show with Jeremy.

Sky covering the FT story about Ofcom investigating whether BSkyB is a 'fit and proper' owner of a broadcasting licence this afternoon.

Hard to think of any broadcaster in the world, other than the BBC, who would so fairly report negative issues surrounding their parent company.

Well only a year ago that sort of story would have been ignored, or only mentioned in passing. Sky News have come quite a long way in seperating themselves from NI since last summer.
