Apparently all of the sounds are being replaced by a propietary add-on for Sky boxes called the NewsSiren. It activates a loud siren every time the graphics change on screen. It's free for Sky World customers, or £299.99 plus installation if you're not.

It's not a hoax, it's a joke, for a start. It's not severe, and the lack of the 'Swoosh' is not detrimental to your viewing experience...
If you cried when comparing Sky News with what it was two years ago, I'd be seriously worried for the state of your mental health.
This is such a bad hoax.This is not funny,but severe. I could cry If I compare skynews today with the skynews 2 years ago.
It's not a hoax, it's a joke, for a start. It's not severe, and the lack of the 'Swoosh' is not detrimental to your viewing experience...

apparently the next version plugs into your sky broadband and can sound a warning of an imminent graphics change even if your TV is off or not tuned to Sky News.
