The side panels are brilliant. Apart from statistics, they've also shown four live feeds from election 'hot spots'.

So four front doors?

Really like the side panels. I don't think they have been overused thus far and the information and content in them is really good.

No Live Desk today, Kay Burley presenting AL from Westminster now.

Kay on a Monday. Oh, joy!

Poor Andrew Wilson was shunted then.

It's risky placing Burley in such a vulnerable position after what happened on Saturday and the campaign to have her sacked. An egg might be thrown!

On her interview with the protestor on Saturday, I felt she was just plain rude with him.

Sky News first with the (and Joey Jones I think) breaking news that an 'outline' of a deal is now in place.

Looks like there'll be developments in the next few hours.

First time I've seen the boxed-up HD preview on SD. Probably on balance less obtrusive than frequent promos.

Really good use of the sidepanel to display Niall Paterson's Twitter feed.

Really good use of the sidepanel to display Niall Paterson's Twitter feed.

I’d be interested to see any captures if anyone has that capability. Do they seem to format his Twitter postings at all for style, punctuation and grammar?

Don't think they had adjusted his postings in anyway in terms of grammar etc.

Ratings wise over the weekend Sky were beaten by the BBC NC but still performed really well.

Sky News averaged 321,000 viewers during the two hour period from 4pm to 6pm on Friday.
On Saturday Sky News's biggest audience was 203,000 in the hour from 10.30am.
Yesterday the viewing figures peaked at an average of 204,000 between 5.30pm and 7.30pm.

Share wise it was 1.9% on Friday, three times the usual audience (compared to the BBC NC 3.6%)
It was 1% all day on Saturday and Sunday, double the usual audience

I would certainly agree with that Guardian article posted earlier that the rolling news channels have come of age during this election with Sky and particularly the BBC NC performing very well.

It's a shame the Skycopter's camera isn't in HD yet - it would make such a difference considering some of the shots they get.
