I don't see it as an issue, it's quite discrete? It's there for a reason too... business is actually becoming increasingly important as the financial situation grows across the globe from the Euro Crisis to our own problems in the UK.

Remember, Sky News is often on screens in offices across 'The City' and around the country, and as we go into 2012, you'll see how Sky will provide more airtime and resources to Business as the financial situation continues. Merely catering to it's audience.


But what I'm getting at is why don't they, as suggested below, just make a business channel instead, I mean, isnt 2 hours of Jeff Randall Live enough AND ALSO the Sky News Business Report (which, im not sure, may air hourly?) isnt this enough?

The skynews business report actually airs every 2 hours (...1520 1720 1920..) but recently there were changes concerning this schedule

Jeff Randall Live is only on for an hour a day, four days a week. The sponsored business report lasts for what, 30 seconds tops, and another 4 minute bulletin every hour during trading. Which is equivalent to what, 90 minutes of business news a day? I'd hardly say that was excessive at a time when the whole news agenda is dominated by an economic crisis, and a stock market that fluctuates at the rate that it does.

If there was demand for another business news channel in this country, do you not think Sky would have already gone down this route?

Another thing to note from tonights press preview at 23:30, Right at the end Ian Dale produced some mistletoe and kissed Jacqui Smith on the lips much to Anna Botting's surprise, No I didn't record it, Hopefully someone did

Fair point, but why have an updater though if your only updating one market which basicly means your repeating yourself,

I think that the "Afternoon Live" background should change to a gallery background if its more serious news and if it's a boring news day or not major stories id say keep this background and also bring back the newswall use for afternoon live, it needs to be more of a variety. And also bring back some nice camera shots and pans not the boring ones which you get at the TOTH and Sports Update at Sky news at 5/6
