It certainly was not "incorrect" they were in Syria legitimately. Back at the end of June Jeremy Thompson and Robert Nisbett gained visas to enter the country legally along with CNN correspondent with no BBC or ITN staff been given visas from Syrian authorities.

Interesting set for the Euro Crisis debate that Adam is chairing from Brussels.

Indeed, and a very nice new and much tidier style being adopted for the captions to promote reports/programmes during the news hours. Perhaps a sign of things to come?

Jeremy Thompson and Robert Nisbet were In Syria legitimately with the permission of the Syrian government; Stuart Ramsay was not.

Great coverage though. Yet another really strong piece in an extraordinary news year.

Sky have replaced Niall Patterson as Defence Correspondent. Sam Kiley will now incorporate the role along with his Security title. Niall will now become a general correspondent. This is a good move for Sky. Niall never really stamped his authority on the role and got very few 'exclusives.' I'm sure Sam will do a great job in the role as he has done since his arrival at Sky.

He would make a better general reporter than he did a political correspondent. He was eye-wateringly biased, so I was pleased to see he'd been moved to defence correspondent after the the last General Election. We haven't seen a great deal of him lately though, and he is a good reporter, so it will be interesting to see where this takes him.

Good coverage of the fallout from the European summit on Sky today. Andrew Wilson presenting Live at 5 from Westminster. Ed Conway continues to excel as economics editor, some great analysis today on TV and online.

I agree; their coverage was very good, which makes it all the more unfortunate that Sky News tends to cover its home continent in such a perfunctory way when there are no major crises. How many full-time European correspondents does Sky News, supposedly a major news organization, even have in Europe? The public broadcaster in tiny Slovenia has full-time TV correspondents based in Rome, Berlin, Zagreb, Trieste, Belgrade, Moscow, and Brussels, as well as a part-time correspondent in London.

Pleased to see they will be bringing back some form of 'Year in Review' this year, although it would be hard not to considering how eventful the year has been. Alex Crawford will be hosting a special documentary reflecting on 2011,
Quote:
Crawford has had a hell of a year. Tunisia, Egypt, Bahrain, Libya – Sky News's special correspondent has charted the year of revolution in the Arab world and won every award going for being the only reporter to ride with the rebels as they reached Tripoli's Green Square in August. Her reward is to present a personal view of the year's news on Sky on 20 December, which is why she's glammed up in London rather than risking being gunned down somewhere in the Middle East.

The snow graphic for the weather from Sky News is an absolute fail.

Great piece just on skynews with Tom Cruise, as soon as he finished his interview with sky he went to Steve Hargrave. Sky stayed with the shot and a woman popped in blocking Cruise so we just saw Steve Hargrave with his daybreak microphone for around a minute. Looked very strange indeed. Then the shot went on to Simon Pegg and cut back to Jeremy Thompson suddenly and he said oh theres Simon Pegg, more use to comedy films like Shaun of the Dead in which I co-starred!!!!
