The Michael Jackson coverage is complete overkill and ridiculous considering the other stories going on in the World - even putting that aside the trial itself is quite dull and the saturated coverage is completely unwarranted. Its hardly having that good affect on the ratings?
I get the feeling that sky are running with the trial because it will add to their campaign of getting live cameras in courtrooms in England. By showing the trial they're making the point that such transparency is not happening in Britain.

good point. they're also saving money by not having to produce their own news during these hours. see also their obsession with newspaper reviews

It's interesting that Sky are giving it more coverage than Fox News is
Guessing there is a playout problem with CBS News, went to commercial and then came back halfway through a report that was on before, and stories getting repeated. And has just cut to Sky for the headlines. Something strange tonight anyway.....

Personally I quite like the newspaper reviews. It sparks interesting debate and is really good to watch on Sunrise and in the evening paper reviews. Otherwise we'd have celebrity gossip reports and 20/20 news hours.
I know what I'd rather watch.
superb coverage from paula middlehurst about the Jackson Trial

Just before 3am they put the HD ticker on SD with the SD graphics, I have never seen that before, The Sky News logo also looks smaller than usual
edit: Still on at 6am so looks like something new, The gap between the graphics and the ticker which has been on overnight has gone at 6am and the graphics look slightly different
