It wasn't appalling... But it was rushed and the last 15 minutes or so was too squeezed in - none of the interviewees from outside were allowed to finish their opinions and the guest in the studio were pushed for time as well.
The interesting part for me was the opening, with the Sky News HD logo sliding onto the black-with-blue-line background, and then Special being added on the end in the Sky font. I haven't seen that before.

Quite frequently seen on Sky Anytime when Sky News reports end up there.
I wonder why there's a man with a ladder right next to Mark at what seems to be the beginning of the TOTH sequence. He has about 15 seconds to get out of shot, surely?

I don't think that would be in shot or could be cut just before -perhaps close to and explain why he is tucked right up against the ladder. I think someone is at the top of it.

He appears to be planking, in other words playing that game where you lie against something and have your photo taken.

Or footing the lean-to ladder, in accordance with most ladder safety training courses.
At the top of the 11pm hour last night, there was a really loud sound of glass smashing somewhere in the newsroom (as a story about the riots was being read, appropriately enough). No idea what it was, but it sounded like more than someone just dropping a glass of water and there was a small amount of background noise after the report, sounding like it was being swept up.
I think Jayne Secker was presenting, she just about managed to keep a straight face.

Goes without saying at this stage but Alex Crawford doing a superb job yet again reporting from Libya.
They stuck with her live report from Zawiyah for around 15 minutes at the top of the 6pm hour. She had to speak over what was almost continuos celebratory gunfire in the background.
