ftse placed under the skynews logo due to the market crisis.Maybe if this gets worse, they'll relaunch the extra business ticker like in 2008

I doubt it... They'll probably put something on the side panels for HD viewers. They must be a bit annoyed that days after they end Jeff Randall Live for the summer, there's a stock market crash. Rather unfortunate for them.

Maybe it might make them re-consider their decision next Summer. Though being a Friday, there wouldn't have been a show anyway tonight - something else to consider for the future as well possibly?

Interesting Boulton & Co today: Sarah Hewson in The City and Sarah-Jane Mee at Sky News Centre. Nothing from Westminster.

Interesting video from a Sky director on Twitter - the first couple of minutes of the 8pm hour with Martin Stanford a few weeks ago overlaid with live production talkback.

why is sky news so one-sided?They have only 1 mayor story that they are reporting about for hours now! This is not good for international viewers!

Watch an international channel then. Sky News is primarily a domestic channel, and this is a story of massive importance here.

Because it's a UK News Broadcaster primarily. You could easily argue why theres been little coverage on CNN or Euronews about it.

My pal, currently working in Boston, said the riots featured for all of 15 seconds on the domestic news there - "The story before it was about a big pile of dirt in some Hicksville hellhole.... It's truly a different world."

So its eeksie peeksie.

I don't think the coverage is one-sided at all, it's a UK channel so it will serve the residents of the UK first and foremost, despite it being broadcast internationally. The story has quite a lot of coverage on CNN, and its been AJE's top story for the day. NBC's Today show had it as its second top story too.
