Odd for a Saturday, we've just had Sky News At Nine and now we're on to the first Press Preview. Usually, only the second one airs on weekends. I'm assuming this is for consistency - as Sky News now likes!
Or emphasis on the importance of the first Sunday without the NotW - so an extra Press Preview makes sense
What is it with Sky News fading out of their presenters mid-speech? It happened just now when Lukwesa was cut-short into the CBS News. It happens on the bottom of the hour and on the weather - it's quite annoying!

Sounds like the newsreaders aren't finishing in time for the break.

It's the transmission suite that takes the studio on and off air for the breaks. I'd have thought the half hour with the CBS News (as well as the last break in every hour) has fixed out points so they hit the top of the hour exactly. The presenters will have to hit the out-time that transmission gives them.
At one point today Sky News HD had three videos down the side, of outside Portcullis House, the Skycopter following Murdoch's car, and one of Joey Jones watching the select committees.
