People let their own political persuasions get in the way of making a sound judgement.

So very true.

I have no problems with Sky News, but put me in front of Andrew Marr on Sunday mornings and I want to throw a brick through the screen!!

My favourite person on the BBC is Andrew Neil, he badgers and heckles as good as Burley (perhaps he taught her when he was at Sky). I assume as I like him, he must favour the Tories.

Nice GFX in the newswall at 1900. Have we seen this since the HD launch?
Apols - have no capture facilities.

Well for their political coverage reputation, I would insist that interviews be done with multiple questioners, one to be pro or anti the party being interviewed, and them clearly marked so we have balance.

A good cop, bad cop scenario? That would just be ridiculous. Political commentators / interviewers should be impartial, and there should be no need for any such thing.

I would also bring in duel presenting teams to bring the appearance of balance to all reporting.

Yes, because when I watch BBC News and they've got 2 anchors, I just know they're balanced. Rolling Eyes Again, another ridiculous thing to suggest really.

I would also cut down the sports updates, with an indication for more sports news, go to "Sky Sports News"

Why? Is that because you don't like Sport? I'm not a massive fan of sport, but I don't find the amount of sport on Sky News intrusive at all. You have to expect more sport at the weekend really - slower news days, and there's more sport happening.

I would also reduce the 3D graphics for newswall coverage to be use for science/technical stories, or military/war coverage.

Aww, but that would stop all the jizzum over graphics.

And I would end the "self-congratulation" the channel shoves in our face. No more "channel of the year" with 3D trophies, and no more adverts bigging up their tv-penis!

I've not seen any "channel of the year" slides or graphics at all since the HD launch.

This is a start.

It'll take more than double anchoring, reducing 3D graphics and reducing sport coverage to improve credibility - you're just suggesting ideas you'd like to see on the channel, not ideas with any kind of substance that would improve the channel's credibility.

Sky need to concentrate on improving the quality of their coverage, and improving their impartiality. This can only really start to be achieved with a new editor.

Also seeing a full-screen 'BREAKING NEWS' wipe with sound effect this evening. Very similar to the 'LIVE' wipe with sound.

It's been seen throughout yesterday and today...

Sportsline from the news desk rather than the island. Perhaps that's partly why there wasn't a Saturday Live today. Why are they not using the island position?

Bit strange. Perhaps because it has been pushed to the side for Martin's newswall pieces?

I'm not a Kay Burley fan, but that was an awful thing to happen to her (and her guest) whilst on air. She handled it well.

The island hasn't been in use at all yet. It wasn't used for NSW last night.

I notice 'Sack Kay Burley' is the top trend on Twitter... some very negative comments about her aswell. I'm sure she'll still wriggle her way out of this one though Laughing

The Guardian has it right, she was unprofessional, if not politically biased towards the Tories.

They must have edited that article, as nowhere does it say she was unprofessional.

"by the end of it, she's shrieking at Babbs, barely letting him get a word out. It's quite an extraordinary piece of television. Paxman, it ain't"
Does this not equate unprofessional?
