You guys may well have spotted this already but from Monday Sky News' programme names apart from Sunrise, Boulton & Co and Jeff Randall Live have all been dropped and replaced with 'Sky News' - it seems even Live at Five will be 'Sky News at 5'. They will have standardised introductions and programmes will be simplified in terms of presentation. Afternoon Live becomes Sky News with Kay Burley and The Live Desk becomes Sky News with Charlotte Hawkins.

Bad move surely?!

That's quite a U-turn. Haven't they spent years trying to differentiate themselves from BBC News and make each programme slightly different? Surely this undoes all of that work. It's very strange that the Sky Programme Information site makes no reference to this change, but the EPG does.

How did you find this out, by the way?

I think it was this statement, Thomas was referring to. They will have standardised introductions and programmes will be simplified in terms of presentation.

Exactly. Thank you mdtauk. The EPG doesn't tell us that the shows will be changed and standardised, so I was wondering how he came across this information.

Why? The one that is on-air now only launched last year.

yeah but this theme music is very repetitive and used in every sequence. The orchestra music had a hughe variety .

You have to imagine when I am watching skynews intl they announce the coming up sequence, the music starts then the whole breakfiller the same music and after the breakfiller the top story sequence with again the same music I sometimes go mad by that repeating music

It's a variation on the same music. The 'Coming up' sequence has a special variation if it uses the blue panel stuff. If you're driven crazy by it, maybe you should switch to BBC News, where they repeat the same music too.

please don't misunderstand myself sky news is a great format and I love watching it I only thought that the orchestra music from 2005 to 2010 was a greater pleasure to hear
- and I don't like bbc much Wink

Sky News at Ten looking very different tonight, the gallery backdrop certainly looks like it's from another angle with a load of chairs scattered in between.

Did anyone see the TOTH?
