Richard, please cover this in future in the Presenters & Rotas topic as this is for presentation discussion. Thanks.

Apologies I clicked on the wrong Sky News thread

Something I have not seen before this morning on Sky World News, Someone had typed in the description for the guest being interviewed into the bar which usually says breaking news but it was the special Libya coloured one, The text was all squashed and then the name of the person appeared on the 1st line of the white bar below instead of the second line leaving a gap where that should have been between it and the ticker

Also the split screen was showing it as Live until they put an "earlier" graphic at the top of the screen, The interview was from the time Anna Botting was on between 5pm and 7pm

Looks like both BBC & Sky News helicopters are provided by the same company, or are just kept in the same hanger.

How come sometimes, when they show the weather, it looks like they're filming it being shown on a screen or plasma? Even if there's no presenter - you can tell because the day and time graphic in the top corner goes off the top of the screen.

Is it something to do with HD? As in, when they show it normally, you see different graphics on SD and HD - is it maybe something to do with this? Just seems strange, that's all.

Another strong set of ratings in the latest BARB officials with the weekly share at 1.1%.

w/e March 27th 1.1%
w/e March 20th 1.3%
w/e March 13th 1.2%
w/e March 6th 0.7%

A 0.5% share was the average weekly figure in March 2010.

I thought they might have had a bit of a different format or look for Sky News at 9, maybe turning the desk to the newswall. But it just looks like a standard bulletin.

According to the latest update on the Sky Programme Information site, a new show 'Sky News at 9' launches tonight.

Presented by Anna Botting it is described as,
Quote:
All the day's news from Sky News correspondents around the world, presented by Anna Botting.

And is followed at 9.30 by a Press Preview,
Quote:
A full review of the best stories in tomorrow's national newspapers.

As the programme information suggested correspondents around the world I had expected perhaps the newswall with a few of them introducing their story they have to report before a news summary from Anna before going to each correspondent at a time. Would be a more thorough way for getting detailed news.

At least it feels like a proper Sky News bulletin - surely the sensible thing to do now would be to extend this superior format to 8pm as well.

if you compare that to 2006 when they walked through the studio up and down the stairs... this was far more interesting than sitting at the desk the whole time with the boring gallery backdrop. Why donīt they use the balcony anymore? And why did they remove the globe backdrop?

The tv in portrait mode is strange, I don't think I have seen it like that before but I think its been mentioned.
