I hope sky news will be voted as best newschannel of the year on tonights rts awards

I really hope not. Normally I would agree but I'd say this year they really don't deserve it.

Anna Botting would be a deserving winner of the presenter award though.

Sky News won the Award for News channel of the Year. Smile

What's happened to Sky News? The bottom third of the picture is at the top of the screen and they are showing some kind of filler with the Currencies, Markets, Headlines on etc and now crashed into the CBS Evening News

I'd hazard a guess and say that would be the international feed, as the ad breaks are replaced with a filler, I think. Presumably they lost the CBS Evening News and weren't ready back at the Sky News Centre, so dropped out to the international feed.

Just had a chance to stop back at the hotel to pick some things up before lunch, and noted that Sky are running two versions of the Libya Protest strap. If it's Breaking News, they'll run a standard version, where the topic can be changed, and also a custom image Libya Protest strap.

Is Adam Boulton in Westminster for Boulton and Co? I wasn't around for launch, so no idea where he is. The real newsroom backdrop is very nice, if he is.

Yes, it's the Westminster studio. I have no idea why they don't use that studio for Murnaghan, the backdrop for that is dreadful.

I'm sure I'm misunderstanding you, but Murnaghan comes from the Westminster studio too...?

Well there's two desks in the Westminster studio, and Murnaghan comes from a different desk in from of lights that make it look like the chroma screen studio. Whereas Boulton and Co comes from the desk in front of the newsroom. I hope that clears up the misunderstanding, I should have probably said desk, not studio.

It all comes from the same desk, definitely not two different ones. Ala Sky Centre where it is on a rotating base.

Nice pan for Live at Five, the jib seemed to rise up from behind the desk, so you could see Anna's autocue etc, and then it zoomed in on the newswall where Andrew Wilson was shown (he's anchoring from the Egypt-Libya border)
