On the weather graphics there appears to be a horizontal line across the middle? Anyone else notice it?

Looks like Sky News' Blue 'laser' they use for promoting HD - as seen at the end of this promo

Confirmation from the Boulton and Co blog that Adam won't be doing Sunday Live in addition to his new show,
Quote:
It's almost the end of an era - just three more Sunday Lives to go before Adam rolls up his Sunday newspapers and heads off to present a new weekday show. I think he's done this show for the last sixteen years although I'm sure he said twenty to me the other day. One to check at 7am in the morning..

Who remembers the old days before Adam started his Sunday show when they used to show a time shifted version of BBC1's Frost on Sunday?

Just to confirm you're not going mad, I do vaguely remember this (though never quite understanding the rationale)

Why don't Sky use this new arrangement for the headline bed?

We heard it briefly on Sky News Active loop when it had its new look. Watch from :45 it sounds great!

I wonder if there are two sets of themes, because AUS seem to have a much more varied theme using lots of different sections, where as I don't hear many different ones in the UK and I can only watch AUS via clips

Earlier this week, I stumbled back across the old rejected Winkreative branding from a few years ago, and actually think it's really lovely in its subtle simplicity... I didn't like it the first time round as I thought it was too basic, but maybe its time has come? I think an HD adaptation with matching side panels would be really nice.

I think the full screen graphics are great, but the lower thirds look horrible. A bit *too* basic for my liking. I think what they ended up with on screen was better overall.

I don't like this new look weather on Sky News, Half the time you don't even have chance to read the temperature before they move the sequence on to the next part of the day

Yes, god knows what they're thinking with this new look weather. Grey all over... a white outline for the UK, and a series of unexplained colours moving across the map with irregular shading in parts? The weather graphics haven't been particularly good for about a decade, but these are a new low.

They've slightly changed it now - yesterday they just showed the entire British Isles, now they show it split into half - Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England, and Wales, England and Eire. It's better than yesterday, however the times become confusing as they showed Friday in Scotland, talking about Friday, then Saturday, and then returned to Friday again for the southern part of the map.
It's not even because it's snowy and cold at the moment - when I briefly saw the African weather on Sky Interactive, it was just as bad.

Any caps of the new graphics?

Isobel Lang tweeted earlier in the week that Newswall forecasts would resume once problems with the graphics are sorted.
