Are you listening to this interview? How much further up Sky's arse can Randall get? Good on the guy from Discovery for pushing the point about platform neutrality.
I don't know why he's even mentioning it to the head of Discovery, yes they're a global brand but as the guest says, they're just a partner and it doesn't matter to them if Sky is owned by News Corporation.

Indeed that's the response Randall got.
Asking if they were interested in Virgin's stake in UKTV after they've just ended their deal with the BBC was a bit of a silly question too.
Randall completely missed the point of the interview taking place by asking all the wrong questions.
1am bulletin recorded? SD style astons going out on HD and on SD there's something odd about the DOG.
HD also looks like it has 2 DOGs a few pixels apart, plus there is a delay in the DOG and ticker coming back on and being removed coming in and out of breaks. The SD graphics are in use and studio shots are certainly upscaled, however I don't think it's recorded as the blurry shot of the gallery behind the presenter seems to match the ticker nicely.
There was an occasion before when Sky News HD switched to SD for a few nights at 1am, so perhaps this is a normal time for some sort of maintenance to be carried out.
Same again for the 2am hour. I guess some maintenance is going on. They have had a couple of technical issues as documented on this thread in the last couple of days.
Hard to tell if its live or not (apart from the sport which clearly isn't), but more of the same graphics issues at 2:00. No references to the time made.

The shot seems to be different tonight, I'm sure you don't usually see so much of the desks behind the anchor?
Is anyone a bit bored of the Sky News studio?
The gallery backdrop is so overly used now, its really boring - a lot of the time it looks really dull (I know its down to whats being shown on the monitors, but late at night its usually blank, colour bars or leaders).
All the programmes just seem to blend into each other - why can't Kay do Afternoon Live in the shoebox on the couches - no desk, when she goes over there occasionally at the end of hours, it is a welcome break from the normal.
Why couldn't the News Wheel be done stood up at the News Wall (remember a bit like how the threesome bulletins use to be presented?).
Main bulletins such as Today, Live at 5, 10 and 11 should go back to having the anchor back to the news wall - who else agree's it would be much more interesting to watch.
Also, why do they make a fuss of World News at 3am till 6am? I've been catching it a lot lately, but its news agenda doesn't really seem to shift from the previous overnight bulletins - no real focus on 'WORLD' news, yes there is that tacky looking Africa Business Report, World Papers, World Weather.... but the actual news content is just the same packages and replays - plus why can't this be done with the old globe background in the studio?
