Did Millbank not already have it's own gallery?


Not sure how much local graphics and server playout facilities were at Sky Millbank. They may have just had cameras on the mixer at Millbank, with Osterley having to play in VTs, do graphics etc.

Pleased to say that Watch in HD banner at the top of the screen has been on much less today, hardly at all

Also saw on Sunrise with Matt Smith that Adam Boulton and Joey Jones have writted a book, Matt Smith joked that he thought he would get a free copy but Adam took it with him lol

APTN have announced that they'll be going HD over the next year, starting with entertainment coverage and making all their news and sport output HD by 2012. So, there should be a noticeable increase of high-def international pictures on Sky News HD over the next year or two.

Is the Millbank building affected by the student protests different to the Millbank building which Sky are in?

Yes different building, Millbank Studios are at 4 Millbank, Millbank Tower is number 21 (I think).

Some news on the new Millbank studio. Saying it wont be ready until the new year and some Osterly based programmes may move to the new studio.


This maybe a silly question but what is a "a black-box ENG studio" ?

Will be interesting to see what other shows could potentially move to Millbank.

On another note apparently John McAndrew will become an associate editor of Sky News in January. There seems to have been a lot of staff changes in recent weeks, I wonder if there will be any significant changes in the new year?

Edit: Also now being mentioned on Twitter that the exec producer of Sky News at 10 is moving to become exec producer and editor of Live at 5.
