How nice of Mr Cable to respond with such vigour to the letters and calls for intervention - but let's not forget who's in Number 10, and his ultimate "input".

Rather conveniently, this period of Ofcom musing will expire on new year's eve, when everyone is well on the way to being tired and emotional - and by the time business reconvenes in the new year, papers will be ready for signature and it'll be a fait accompli.

If Ofcom somehow manages, with even a preponderance of evidence, to find that plurality isn't an issue, then the competition commission's investigation could be considered redundant and already answered.

Rather timely for the coalition, when you consider which way a true Murdoch news channel in the UK may lean, dontchyathink?

Is anyone else getting fed up of seeing the Sky News: Watch in high definition on sky channel 517 at the top of the screen all the time?

Fair enough if there is a big event going on but It's been on almost permanently for the last hour

I wondered if it had become permanent, but I think it should be reserved for big Breaking News Stories

It's been particularly prevalent today. They must be of the assumption that they'll get extra viewers today because of the BBC strike, so decided to promote it incessentaly.

I did wonder if it was to do with the BBC strike, Hope it's not going to be on all the time once the strike is over

No. We don't get the reminder on Sky News HD. Good thing about having a separate graphics package.

They seem to keep changing it between the transparent background and the blue background. I wish they'd make their mind up.

Some news on the new Millbank studio. Saying it wont be ready until the new year and some Osterly based programmes may move to the new studio.

"a fully operational gallery"

Did Millbank not already have it's own gallery?

it might mean that Millbank can control the Sky News Network without it going through Osterely
