This is quite extraordinary. Would have been unsurprising if it was Burley though.

Not a patch on Alan Brazil's "Two Versions" talkSPORT interview about Bob Monkhouse.

The Daily Mail says Sky currently have 3 staff in Chile but that they will send 6 more later on, which seems unlikely.

When it was just Robert Nisbet, there were three staff. I believe that Andrew Wilson and his team would make up the extra six.

In defence of Stephen, I'm more in the Gibb brothers' era than he is and I have to think twice about which two are dead and which two are alive.

Ah that makes more sense, thanks for that.

Interestingly none of the promos or adverts on Sky are broadcast in HD, just the programmes.
Do any HD channels have HD adverts?

Sky News Australia have tied up a content sharing deal with CNN International
Quote:
SKY News has struck a new four year deal with CNN, The Australian reports.
From January 1st it will have access to CNN programming.
The CNN International channel is already available through Foxtel, but SKY chief executive Angelo Frangopoulos says the network and its correspondents, including Australians like Michael Holmes and Anna Coren, “will form a central part of SKY international news coverage initiatives launching next year”.
Sky News reporters will also be accessed by CNN International for news coverage and programming from Australia.
“The importance of CNN to us is their breadth and depth. We’ve established great strengths in politics and national affairs, and the resources of CBS, Fox and BSkyB, but this takes us to another level,” he said.
It is believed to be the largest news content deal SKY has struck in its 15-year history.

According to The National, an Abu Dhabi newspaper, Adrian Wells will be the head of the Sky News Arabic channel if it goes ahead. He is currently the head of foreign news at Sky.
Quote:
Meanwhile, a senior source at Sky News said the UK broadcaster's Arabic operation would be headed by Adrian Wells, who is currently head of foreign news at the broadcaster. The source said Sky's Arabic-language operation would include "at least seven Middle East bureaus". Sky declined to confirm the information, however.

"Sky News remains in discussions with an Abu Dhabi-based private investor about the potential to establish a new 24/7 Arabic language satellite news channel," Sky said in an e-mailed statement. "If the discussions are successful, the channel could launch within 24 months. There are no further announcements to make at this time."

Interesting to see Robert Nisbet presenting Live at 5 from Chile, presumably to give Andrew a break ahead of the rolling coverage later on this evening. Robert is quite impressive in the role. Good to see Emma Hurd on site aswell.

Still no sign of the new Westminster studio on air, odd seeing as it's been open for a couple of weeks now. I guess it is just still not ready.
