Notice he says regular news. I wouldn't class NSW as regular news maybe?

No - Martin has clearly confirmed on his Twitter page that he will be doing NSW. People on this forum may be reluctant to accept this news, but that doesn't change the fact that it's happening. Just another nail in Sky News' coffin as far a I'm concerned.

Does anyone have any footage of Lucy's goodbye? It'd be nice to see it, I missed it sadly.

Another interesting Sky News Panel survey about the types of news viewers want and when. Questions included how interested at weekends was I in rolling 15 minute news/Broad news round up/focus on one story/interviews.

Combined with the entertainment news survey a few weeks ago I think wider schedule changes are under consideration

Plesed to see we are getting at least 1 more SkyNews.com Technology Unplugged tonight,

The business presenters have been back on the updates from yesterday, Still don't like the new weather updates though they don't really tell you much especially during the newswheel 2 hour

The new weather updates are awful. One wonders why they simply couldn't have got the Sunrise forecaster to pre-record one or two different forecasts for the remainder of the day, as they used to do every weekend and still do for Five News.

No mention of Coulson story on Sky News at Six. Top story on BBC News at Six. Go figure.

Haven't seen any Sky News TV, but they have put a story about the NOTW allegations up on the website.

On another note Anna Botting and Colin Brazier will lead the coverage of the Papal Visit, must say I am surprised Kay Burley isn't involved, she seems to have covered a lot of the big 'event' stories in recent months. Adam will also chair a debate on the subject on September 15th.

Also confirmation that Jeff's show has been extended and that Martin will host 'News, Sport, Weather'. Disappointing that they aren't even continuing 'Tech Unplugged' with the 15 min bulletins running from 7 to 10pm on Fridays.

And finally a rather bizarre moment from Martin Brunt today,

That was good Samantha's face was hilarious

Did anyone manage to capture Anna Botting breaking down in laughter at the end of Thursday's press preview with Kelvin?

Now now that's a bit of a low blow in relation to Kelvin. He is the best newspaper reviewer out there and Sky News would be for the better if he had stayed in his role he previously had there.

I'd argue that none of the guests are really doing a paper review. Whenever I have seen the paper review, they just talk about the stories within the papers. I would like to see Sky or someone else doing a proper paper review segment where it is explained what allegiances a certain paper or it's editor(s), owner(s) and/or advertisers have that might be relevant to the stories they publish on that day, theories given on why they are reporting a certain story so prominently and why they may be ignoring another story. Maybe a look at Scottish/Irish versions of the papers and discussions on why they are different to the English version(s). A comparison between first editions and final editions the next day could also sometimes be interesting too.

I'm surprised also Rolling Eyes I couldn't think of anything worse. Imagine the scene: Pope Benedict stands to deliver a Mass from Glasgow. Before him thousands of people are gathered, waiting in nervous expectation. Suddenly... 'Pope Benedict, your Live on Sky News. Live on Sky News'. It doesn't bear worth thinking about. I can hear the tease for cutting to commercial: 'It's Catholic, it's religious, and it's live, on Sky News'.

I forgot about that... Though really it should be preceded by 'Maybe you have a question you'd like to ask the Pope'. A favourite of mine from a few years ago was the Sky News Active vote. I can see it now: 'That's the question we're asking on our Sky News Active vote today: should I make the Pope cry like Peter Andre? Green for yes, red for no'.
