Sky News has recorded its worst rating week in 8 months, reaching just 4.86m viewers across the week ending August 1st. It was the lowest since w/e December 13th 2009 and 22% below the 6.24m average for the year-to-date.

Can that be put down to a very slow newsweek?

I beleive it could be due to the HD channel. BARB seriously underestimate HD viewing. With 'free HD' available to 20% of the UK population, channels like BBC HD and ITV1 HD are only reaching 4.9% and 3.4% of viewers.

With Sky News HD available in more than 1 in 3 Sky households, if BARB is not giving these enough representation, ratings will suffer.

Earlier this year, Adam Boulton said in an interview with Iain Dale that the Westminster bureau was going to be redesigned from scratch. Is it possible that this could be underway as interviews seem to be getting done from outside the Houses of Parliament and business interviews all seem to be coming from the Gherkin?!

Yeah I believe the work is underway, one of the Westminster team tweeted a picture of them in their rather cramped temporary newsroom a few days ago.

Sky News Australia will be available on www.skynews.com.au and on EUTELSAT W2A at 10° East for next weekend's federal election.

They also say it'll be available in London via fibre through 'FL/PTC3 at BT Tower'. Can that be tuned in via a Sky box, does anyone know?

Strange question... why is Steve Dixon now being called 'Stephen Dixon' on air?

He has never liked the name 'Steve'; so Sky have agreed to call him 'Stephen', which he prefers.

Very hard to watch the SN Australia feed on active when you cant go full screen, the small screen cuts off some of the graphics. Whatever about going from 8 screens to 4, it really is very odd that they removed the full screen option.
