Looks like the HD panel on the right of the screen is on SD on Freeview!

How long was it like this? Was it using the other non-4:3 safe graphics too?

It was at the time of Jolly Turnip's post.
With regard to what it was, simply rotating weather banner/updates.

As to how long it went on for, I couldn't say.

Gozo and Joe, let's start a campaign to move the Sky News HQ from Osterley to Huddersfield! If the BBC can move Sian Williams to Manchester, I don't see why we can't have Kay Burley in Hudds!

(By the way, I am originally from Glasgow but consider Huddersfield to be the second greatest place on the planet................long story)

YES! I can see it now, the Gas Tower in the Background.... What a sight.

Did anyone manage to record the sidebar or snap it with a phone?

I don't mean to be rude, but why do you doubt the sighting of a sidebar on the SD feed the other night that Jolly and I saw? I know what I saw, a big black box sponsored by Qatar Airways with rotating maps and top temperatures. Why do we have to prove anything?

The subtitles are probably about the same subject as the audio. Hopefully, anyway.

Why are they showing the Bank of England press conference in stretchyvision?

They did the same with the Charles Taylor court case from the Hague for some of the time, but mainly it was in the correct aspect ratio.

Can that be put down to a very slow newsweek?
