I think this might be Sky trying to get a more senior correspondent in the Middle East to attract people to watch World News in the Arab world. The extension of the programme earlier this year was reported to be because Sky wanted a bigger audience in Asia, wasn't it?
I'm surprised Alex Crawford is moving, shes had some great reports recently. Given that Ashish filed a low amount of reports from Dubai, I wonder why is Alex being moved there?

She will still cover Pakistan and Afghanistan alongside Stuart Ramsey,

Crawford, who was named television journalist of the year at this year’s Royal Television Society awards, will report from the Gulf and parts of the Middle East, working in partnership with Ramsay to cover Afghanistan and Pakistan.

I;m surprised Ramsay moved to New Delhi considering he has a young family. Does this mean there will be a new chief correspondent based in London or will he keep this title? Also surprised Peter Sharp is coming home. What role will he play based in London? He was a top class China correspondent.

The article says that Peter Sharp will become a senior news correspondent in London, so I imagine his role will be similar to what Stuart Ramsay’s was previously, covering the big stories at home and overseas. Very good news that the excellent Holly Williams will be the full-time China Correspondent.

Seems fine... You'll notice that no-one’s discussing presenters or rotas currently though.
Is the Sky News Presenters thread broken?

Technically discussing correspondents and reporters isn't included in the "Sky News: Presenters & Rotas" thread
My computer must be playing up, as on my screen the previous 12 posts are all about presenters.

Are these not just titles that have little meaning in practical terms.
This is pure speculation on my part - but I wonder if they gave him the title to stop him leaving? I think that's happened in the past.
Looks like that may well have been the case,

Suspected as much. These promotions usually only happen for a reason...
I would have liked Joey to move into the role as Chief Political Correspondent with Jon Craig taking the Deputy Political Editor. He is vastly more experienced than Joey and he is more of an authoritive figure. I'm sure his role in Sky News will not change though with him sticking to the 7-12 at night time normally.

Sky News bosses heaped praise on Joey Jones who has been promoted to deputy political editor — above older reporter colleagues. Some say he is being groomed to take over from veteran political editor Adam Boulton but might there be a simpler reason? The BBC had approached Jones...

Sorry to go on about this, but it's happening again tonight. Is Sky News HD only part time now?
SD graphics currently going out on HD channel. Well it's odd. Ticker, clock and DOG are the SD ones but in HD quality. All the straps are SD style and blurry, too. All video, studio and fullscreen graphics look SD and blurry, as well.

I wouldn't think it'd be part time. Perhaps this hour has been prerecorded and they're using an SD recording minus 'live' graphics?
Which could explain why 'recorded' straps are in SD quality but 'live' graphics such as the DOG, clock and ticker are in HD.
