I would have liked Joey to move into the role as Chief Political Correspondent with Jon Craig taking the Deputy Political Editor. He is vastly more experienced than Joey and he is more of an authoritive figure. I'm sure his role in Sky News will not change though with him sticking to the 7-12 at night time normally.

Are these not just titles that have little meaning in practical terms.

Don't tell that to the correspondents themselves. In my experience they quite like having these grand titles (well, to be fair, some do - not all by any means).

This is pure speculation on my part - but I wonder if they gave him the title to stop him leaving? I think that's happened in the past.

SD graphics currently going out on HD channel. Well it's odd. Ticker, clock and DOG are the SD ones but in HD quality. All the straps are SD style and blurry, too. All video, studio and fullscreen graphics look SD and blurry, as well.

I noticed I saw Adrian Simpson (from Police, Camera, Action!) presenting on Sky News last night.

Sky News Australia has apparently updated their graphics package and changed some aspects of their studio. Big few weeks for them with the launch of ABC News 24 next week on July 22nd.

Sky claiming too they own the "News 24" brand down under and that ABC must only ever call the channel "ABC News 24" and not simply "News 24".

Prefer the new Sky News Australia music to the current UK stuff Wink

Edit - They still have the awful Sky UK headline bed though.

And Rhiannon Mills from Anglia Tonight is apparently heading for Sky News, after leaving the programme. What will her role be?

Spotter her this morning for the fist time. She was reporting live about the Goldtrail holiday company crash.

How have Sky News Business Channel, adopted the new look and font?

Nothing of real significance, apart for the logo which is now in the top left - and has a degree of transparency. They also have a new TOH ID. The ticker font changed a few days ago.

Weekends are nothing but recorded shows - the majority of which use titles that aren't part of the actual network design - and repeats of programs broadcast on Thursday/Friday. If we were to see new titles, I'd say we'll see them tomorrow when the live shows kick off for the week.

Why on earth would a BBC licence fee cut be of interest to those watching an Aussie business channel?
