Not sure which one of the Sky News threads to put this in,

Absolutely delighted for Joey, the right choice and a good move to reduce Adam's workload.

Was there a previous Deputy Political Editor, or have they just given him a new post?

New post I think, presumably prior to this Jon Craig was ahead of Joey in Millbank with his role as 'Chief Political Correspondent'.

Im also pleased for Joey, really enjoy his analysis and he does seem to have a lot of sources.

Great news about Joey Jones, a great political analyst as well as a talented journalist.

Also heard that Sky's excellent showbusiness correspondent Steve Hargrave is leaving to join Daybreak, the new ITV breakfast programme.

Apparently an arabic, Abu Dhabi based version of Sky News is in the works but talks are still in the early stages,

Quote:
In a statement, John Ryley, head of Sky News, said: “This venture would build on our existing strengths as an international news provider and bring the Sky News brand to a new audience. Discussions are progressing well and we look forward to bringing a new approach to Arabic-language news.”

I've never heard it before but they use fantastic SkyNews Music for SkyNews Sportsline - Much more up beat than the General News version they now used understandably of course.

Totally agree, it's so much better than the repetitive music for headlines.

Joey Jones maybe an excellent correspondent but seems to be sidelining the more experienced Jon Craig and Glen O'Glaza here

Excellent news about Joey Jones. I know a few of us here during the election were discussing him as the potential successor to Adam Boulton and it looks like Sky see it the same way. Although it sounds like he would be second in the Millbank pecking order to Boulton, interesting to see how his role develops in comparison to Jon Craig. It makes sense for Joey to be groomed as the successor to Boulton though, given the ages of other potential candidates.

Sky News just played saw the promo that tells us that the net is closing in on Britain's Most Wanted man (Roaul Moat). Whoops.

Yet another GMTV entertainment reporter recruited from Sky News. Fiona Phillips, Helen Fospero and now Steve Hargrave.

Any others?
