Sky News: Presentation Discussion

Afternoon Live with Kay Burley and Gillian Joseph. I thought Gillian normally did Friday Sunrise? It was another presenter who was on today.

Anyway, was it my imagination, or did Gillian's mobile ring once on the set just now? Anyone else hear it?

Yes Gillian normally does Sunrise and the first hour of Sky News Today on a Friday. However she has hardly been on Sunrise the past few weeks, instead covering over slots such as the Live Desk and Saturday Live. I'm guessing she will be covering another slot again this weekend

It was Sarah-Jane Mee, who was on last night too and will do Cricket AM on Sky Sports tomorrow.

Can we not split this nonsense into a new rota thread, like the BBC one?

How long have they been playing the main sting over the announcer?

Also, how come the daytime business updates doesn't come from the Gherkin? it seems a waste for it just to be aired for 30 minutes a night.

presumably because it's cheaper just to present it from the studio. I think the BBC stopped doing it from the LSE for the same reason

It has got incredibly tedious.

I wish we had a "presenters and rotas" forum, so I could avoid them en-masse. The GMTV thread might actually be readable if that was all removed.

A wonderful idea, though seeing as we're still asking for separate rota threads for Sky, I can see this being a little far off.

They've soon got rid of it again!
