Sky News: Presentation Discussion

You can see and hear people sitting behind Paula Middlehurst watching the football. Everytime there is a goal they interrupt her with their noise before she hands over to Nick Powell for an update.

A new video has been added on the press office website.

It shows behind the scenes of Sky News on the day Gordon Brown resigned, from a gallery point of view, presenters and correspondents. Very good viewing seeing how it all went to air.

Notice the man with his hands in the air and the woman with her hands on her head. This was just after England's disallowed goal in the World Cup match against Germany this afternoon, also notice the score. It is currently 2-1 at half time, it isn't 3-1 (yet).

Sky News need to be careful. If the England goal had come a few seconds earlier, the cheering from the people in the office would have been heard while Paula Middlehurst was reading a story about a dead solider rather than the next one, a more light-hearted story about Prince Harry.

I love how they show the Gallery shot, which has a screen showing Samantha Simmonds sitting in the studio looking bored out of her mind.

With Emma Crosby leaving GMTV is there any chance of her returning to Sky or is she getting a spot on ITV News? I guess she may be too expensive for Sky now even if they could find her a place in the schedule.

What on earth is wrong with Andrew Pierce? I hope he's alright looks like he has a rather nasty swelling on the side of his face, seems to be quite quiet and not lapping up the banter as usual aswell.

Those videos show that the reporters hear the news from the producer in the gallery. It's not other way round. Kinda pointless having reporters.

It would be nice to have Emma back. Michael Wilson returned to Sky News after he 'failed' at GMTV. I don't suppose her fee would have to be high though.
