Martin admitting on SkyNews.com that the web reaction has been very critical of Kay, he also read out a statement from Sky News.

Im not fan of Kay(or Andre admittedly)but I don't see what she did wrong,he should have expected a tough interview on a news channel. Although I would agree they should never have been interviewing him in the first place.

Sorry, but what exactly has Peter Andre done to warrant being called 'vile?' It's a bit of a callous word to be banding about without any real reason. He didn't at all during his interview on Sky strike me as a vile person. Words that did enter my head: naïve, uncomfortable, insecure. But never vile.

What is vile is how this culture of celebrity is infecting TV news.

A fair and honest assessment from Martin. Any video of this? What was said in the statement?

Although Martin said most of the comments about Burley were critical of her, the guest he had on was in favour of her pursuing those type of questions, not exactly a fair debate.

What are the presenting points for Live Desk and news on 15 minutes?? The background for Live Desk looks different to what they had when the show started.

I think Peter thought he could go on, despite obviously being emotional (no matter what he says about not caring) & plug his album and not be asked questions about his personal life. Kay wasn't out of order.

Convenient that it was being filmed for the reality show.

To some people, (me included for the most part) any celebrity who uses their personal life for publicity, or seek publicity for the sake of it, are 'Vile'.

In this circumstance, I do believe Peter was genuinely upset, and should never have turned up for the interview, and his advisers failed in their duty of care for him. But Kay Burley should not be blamed for asking probing questions, she is after all an experienced and trained tabloid journalist, and after warning him twice, she asked a couple of hard questions, and when he said he no longer wanted to talk about it, she tried to move onto the 'plug' but by then he was not up to continuing.

Peter Andre had a human and natural response, when he must have already been upset. It wont have done him any personal or professional harm, and the reaction to Kay is what I consider out of order. The YouTube comments calling her evil and a c***, were out of line, as she was doing her job, and it was Peter who should never have been there to begin with.

And one more thing, to all those who read the tabloid papers for celeb news. Do you not think when these celebs read the headlines and critical press, they don't cry or feel upset? Its one thing writing about these things from behind a desk in the office, its another thing being honest and brave enough to ask those same questions in person.

Alex Crawford's brilliant report leading News At Ten. This is what Sky News is good at, not celebrity nonsense which is devaluing the brand.

Keep in mind that Burley is the sick cow who asked a serial killer's wife if she thought that her husband wouldn't have murdered so many young girls if she'd given her husband more sex.

She's the lowest of the low. Charlie Brooker has incisively picked apart her modus operandi on NewsWipe. Martin, you're defending the indefensible.

As it happens I think Peter Andre is a particularly good example of "celebrity". He's self-effacing, humble, and articulate about his personal life, and how that naturally becomes part of the public interest.

What she did was to throw a highly emotive INVENTED scenario to him - his Achilles heel, as it were, about Alex Reid adopting his children - something the overly revealing Price hasn't so much as alluded to.

Anyone doing a modicum of research would know that this was a bridge too far for Peter Andre.

Despite his obvious and instant reaction, she deliberately probed further to gain an emotive response.

Totally deliberate - misjudged, and entirely without merit.

She's a disgusting, tabloid disgrace - and Sky should have disposed of her years ago.

And make no mistake, she's entitled the blog "Team Pete", not just because, as she states in her final sentence, she's become part of the "team" - but to highlight that the reaction against her is because Peter has a loyal, and growing, following.

In a sense she's dismissing any criticism of her by saying, "anyone upsetting Peter Andre will naturally be the subject of biased and squewed opinion".

In Scotland we would say, "she's not as green as she's cabbage looking".

Meaning, she may sound like she was utterly unaware that her actions would cause such a reaction from her interviewee - but don't believe it for one minute.

She knew what she was doing - she's simply without a moral compass.

That's been my view for years, and its only reinforced by what I saw today. She's basically Piers Morgan in drag. Only less attractive.

I sympathised but warned him not to ever cry in front of the children.

Especially when you throw questions to him live on air to provoke such a response, eh Kay?

Bitch.
