Well... yeah. I'm sure their families apologise for disappointing you.

I just wanted to clear it up cause from those Tweets it sounded like something huge and this sadly happens every other day.

But theres been 5 deaths in 24-hours, and also more deaths now than there was in Iraq.

Sky News needs to go back to pure rolling news. Their schedule is too varied over the same content.

Content wise it's the same all day (except for NSW), but they try to disguise it by presenting it differently throughout the day. You would understand the need for different presentation if the content was different, but repackaging the same thing with differents styles does not work.

Also, is overnight now pre-recorded? I tuned in at midnight, to see Tessa Chapman presenting, and exactly 3 hours later, they opening shot was exactly the same. 3am was certainly pre-recorded.

I thought Sky News was live all night? They certainly advertise it as Live all night at the toth.

I think they have got it pretty much spot on at the moment, what is really needed now is a period without any major changes to the schedule or presentation to allow the channel to have a period of stability after so many revamps and refreshes since the 2005 move.

It may have taken quite some time and a lot of changes and experiments and im not a fan of the NSW bulletins, but I do think Ryley and co. have now, finally, managed to get SN back on track if not back to its best.

Yes I agree to some extent. Sky Today (even with its clumsy name) is spot on, but Afternoon Live has the same content but comes across badly.

One show I think works a treat is The Live Desk though. Fast paced, straight to the point and its presenation is slick but straight forward, and I believe it's the highest rated programme on Sky News in daytime?

I don't think it would hurt to have a least a couple of hours double headed a day either.

I'd like to see Sky News Today at least return to a double-headed format. Preferably Anna & Dermot Mon-Thurs, Chris & Samantha Fri. Then Steve Dixon could move to weeknights & Paula Middlehurst could replace Steve at the weekend. Everything else could stay the same.

I agree with you that Sky should return to the two presenter format for Sky News Today and Live at Five

My preferable Sky News format:
6am-9am Eamonn Holmes and Charollete Hawkins(headlines)

10am-1pm Dermot Murnaghan and Anna Jones

9am-10am 1pm-2pm Colin Brazier (Livedesk)

2pm-5pm Kay Burley and Steve Dixon (headlines)

5pm-6pm Live at five with Jeremy Thompson

6pm-8pm Jeremy Thompson and Anna Botting

8pm-8:30pm Jeff Randall Live

8:30pm-10pm Martin Stanford

10pm-11pm Chris Roberts and Anna Botting

11pm-1am Chris Roberts

2am-6am Luquesa Borak

But in all honesty the one presenter format has proved itself to be efficient and also means that every major Sky News programme is presented by a top quality presenter that viewers are familiar with and allows for these 'big name' presenters to be spread out across the schedule at both weekends and weekdays. I used to be opposed to the single headed presentation but I do now see its logic,it makes for a faster bulletin, distinguishes Sky from the competition on the BBC and is ultimately more cost effective.

It would be,in my opinion,a huge mistake to return to double headed presentation now that the channel has become accustomed to double headers, the entire schedule is based around it.

I partly agree with you but in my previous post there is still the single headed presentation but I would just like to see the double headed 3 times a day
