I've been working at Sky the past couple of weeks and I got the chance to wander into the Sky News studio - it's such a weird set-up! I'd hate to work in the office as you never know when they're on-air or not until you hear this voice reading auto-cue from the middle of the room!


Are you able to clearly hear the voice of the presenter from around the room? That would be an odd thing to get used to!!

Do you have much interaction with the presenters when their off air? Wouldn't mind working where you are!!!

It's not fed around the office, but you can hear a raised voice that's for sure!

I'm not there anymore as I was only there as a freelancer whilst we recorded a show at the studios, but it was very interesting. Got some pics from the balcony above the newswall.

Agreed. They have been right on top of things recently, especially with events at Westminster.


I would agree with that,in fact it us quite remarkable the channel is in such good shape now considering the appalling graphics,at times lackluster coverage and indeed the lack of using the studio that was so evident just 18 months ago.


would be interesting to know why you think the channel is in good shape, since you appear to hate the graphics, not like the coverage and don't like a studio that was apparently being used well 18 months ago, despite having been rejigged only four months ago... what exactly IS in good shape as far as you're concerned then? Wink

Sky News yesterday used a new LIVE aston, it was still in the same position and LIVE was still red - maybe brighter, but the location was white and rounded at bottom. looked better, more in keeping with the channel identity. Shame they have reverted today, I wonder if they are planning to change it at some point soon. Did anyone catch it?

And hello everyone, I'm kinda new around here (used to come on a lot in the days of TV Home Forum, Cat's Identz (remember that, brilliant!), etc but havent been on for few years).

I think the LIVE aston was because of the Iran Elections graphics, which are mostly white. It did look a lot better though, and I must say Sky has very good coverage from Iran.
