Sky's coverage of the Iranian Elections has been superb, great coverage from Asish Joshi and Tim Marshall in Tehran.

I think Sky News in general has been excellent recently. They went through a rough patch but they seem to have regained their spark.

Agreed. They have been right on top of things recently, especially with events at Westminster.

Sky News has announced Sky News HD for next spring. They are upgrading their broadcast equipment both here and abroad.

Well, they seem muddled with their thinking. Reports from abroad by all broadcasters are increasingly at crappy videophone quality, even from 'easy' locations, so what are they playing at here ? Yes HD sounds great, but my perception of Sky (and the Beeb) is that technical quality of reports is on the slide, it's not even SD at times !

I would agree with that,in fact it us quite remarkable the channel is in such good shape now considering the appalling graphics,at times lackluster coverage and indeed the lack of using the studio that was so evident just 18 months ago.

Just looked at the webcam and strangely they seem to be showing the Lions Rugby game on the newswall.

Makes sense if Chris Roberts was on. He's a big rugby fan.

Very good she was too. I thought she was a bit too natural for a first-timer, the fact she's a producer probably explains why.

Yep, found it quite interesting following Tim Marshall, he's all on his own out there now:

I've been working at Sky the past couple of weeks and I got the chance to wander into the Sky News studio - it's such a weird set-up! I'd hate to work in the office as you never know when they're on-air or not until you hear this voice reading auto-cue from the middle of the room!
